Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Information entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. That provider processes the search under its own policies. Rowan County Court Docket does not represent that it keeps a separate copy of a search term entered into a provider’s tool.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor sends a message, the message and contact details may be retained to respond and maintain the communication. Information is not disclosed outside the organization except when disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the resource, its users, or its rights.
Data We Gather Automatically
Like most online services, the resource may receive technical information when a page loads:
- The IP address associated with the device connection
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating-system information
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring page or service, when one is supplied
- Dates and times associated with page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics tools may help measure traffic, page performance, and general use patterns. Browser controls can limit or block cookies. Some functions or displays may work differently when cookies are disabled.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and submitted information may be used for ordinary operation of the resource, including:
- Operating, securing, and improving page delivery
- Sending a search request to the provider selected by the visitor
- Understanding general traffic and page performance
- Identifying and addressing technical problems
- Supporting advertising that may be relevant to a visitor’s interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Rowan County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of official court dockets or personal case files. The Rowan County Clerk of Superior Court is the local custodian for court records. G.S. 7A-109 addresses Clerk-maintained court files, dockets, and indexes, while G.S. 132-1 supplies North Carolina’s baseline public-record definition and access rule.
Public availability does not make all court information unrestricted. Rule 27 governs electronic confidential filings and sealing in the Superior and District Courts. This resource only provides general routing information. It is not a consumer reporting agency and does not assemble visitor information into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes and linked services can be run by separate companies. Information submitted to those services is subject to their own privacy, retention, and sharing practices. Rowan County Court Docket does not control those practices, so visitors should read a provider’s policy before using its service.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to court, Clerk, state, and third-party resources. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the receiving site’s privacy practices apply. Review those policies before providing personal information to another service.
Advertising partners may measure activity across services to provide interest-based advertising. That activity is controlled by the partner’s systems rather than this resource.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited information can be shared with:
- Search providers that process a visitor’s submitted request
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic or performance
- Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when a valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect the information the resource receives. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so absolute protection against every unauthorized event cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If information from a minor is believed to have been submitted, it may be removed after the concern is verified.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal information. Subject to legal and operational limits, a visitor may request:
- A copy of personal information held about that visitor
- Correction of personal information that is inaccurate
- Deletion of personal information where deletion is available
- Limits on certain processing where the law provides that option
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as the resource, its providers, or applicable requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted here.
